My husband is is a police officer and needs it for work
I bought this product to replace my old carrier. The old carrier is the Gen 1 of this same product. Cut is the same, size is the same. After swapping out my soft armor into the new carrier, I can already tell that this product is the new and improved version of my old one. The velcro is what gave out first on the old carrier. The velcro on the gen 2 is noticeably more heavy duty. The cumberbun of the gen is is much improved as well. I have soft armor to go inside the built-in pouches and they never fit quite right in the gen 1. The gen 2 has a flap inside the cumberbun pouch to slide any soft armor panels behind. Now the velcro will stay closed on the gen 2 cumberbun. The only draw back I've noticed is that I prefer the armor pocket for front and back on the gen 1. The gen 1 had a velcro strap inside the pocket to adjust panel or plate ride height as well as a flap to close up the pocket completely. The gen 2 only has the ride height strap.
