Blankets are used as first response for preventing hypothermia in trauma cases. Hypothermia in trauma cases occurs regardless of ambient temperature. Stopping heat loss should begin immediately. It can also be used as a signaling device for easy identification.

I have not used these survival blankets so I can't speak to their quality. I purchased them to put into backpacks I'm putting together to give to those around me who are homeless. I add them with fleece throws and some essentials. My hope is that these blankets will give them a little more warmth on cold nights or protection from rain when needed. I plan to purchase more.
