The Softie Elite Series has a number of extra features, mainly the EPS (Expanda Panel System). When the EPS is not needed, it is an extra thick zip baffle helping to keep out those unwanted drafts. When extra room is needed simply deploy the EPS and zip it together with the zipper of the main body. The EPS provides an additional 5 - 10 inches of extra space.
The mid point of our range and a great all rounder, this Elite sleeping bag provides you with the warmth and pack size you need to keep traveling fast and light whilst keeping a careful eye on the weight. Equipped with our unique easy to deploy Expanda Panel System and its own sturdy compression stuff sack. A layer of our exclusive Reflectatherm metalized barrier helps to reflect heat back inside.

The Snugpak Softie Elite 3 sleeping bag is an excellent choice if you only want to own one sleeping bag. While long, 87", for me (68"), it folds and clips at the bottom to make it about 10" shorter (less room to heat). The foot box is lined so if you wear your pants and socks, or even boots, you won't ruin the sleeping bag. The side zipper has an additional baffle to extend the width of the bag by about 6". This is a great feature in the winter if you want to wear your insulated layer in the bag (or are a little wider than most). It even has a neck baffle to keep the heat in the bag in winter. As part of a system (Tent, bivy, bag, liner, air mat, and insolate (closed cell foam) pad, and insulating layer), you can use this bag this bag down in the teens. The bag is also light enough to use in the 40's and 50's without sweating. It packs small for a synthetic bag and is light for a 3+ season bag. Recently, Snugpak had quality issues, but I see none of those in this bag. I highly recommend this bag and Snugpak in general.
