The harness was field proven with the Kodiak and the holster does everything the competition cannot do! Designed for an abbreviated draw stroke through its open top, it allows for much faster target acquisition than a typical scabbard holster.

The Kodiak Hunter comes assembled and includes holster, shoulder strap and torso strap.

Made for large framed double and single action hunting revolvers, the Kodiak Hunter is available in havana brown.

I want to say this is a very comfortable holster for the Smith and wesson 629 performance center 44 mag with 7.5 in barrel. However my barrel is a inch or so longer with the muzzle break and it sticks out of the holster about an inch. I called the Galco Kodiak hunter manufacturer and they said they don't make this holster any longer. I am going to use it and hopefully the barrel won't bump into anything metal and get scratched up. It is a very well made holster.

I wanted to treat myself to a properly fited, genuine quality leather holster. This looked like it would foot the bill. After much research, I decided to go for it. I agree, most all the complaints for this quality holster is the wait! I am not accustomed to have to wait for something of an expensive nature after much deliberation on the purchase. Took a while to get this but I can see why this holster is always back ordered and in demand. This holster is a bad ass piece of leather! The tooling, craftsmanship and finish of this holster is gorgeous. I purchased this for a Ruger Super Blackhawk, blue, 7.5 inch barrel wearing a Bushnell Elite 2x6 LER scope. Stock walnut grips in .44 mag.
The holster design lets me cross draw just high enough to break leather, (2 inches,) pivot the barrel forward and raise to shooting height faster than you could ever draw an 11 inch scoped wheelgun from a standard holster. My Ruger is set up to hunt both deer and elk in Colorado and this holster is the perfect compliment to a hardcore handgun. Great Job Galco and thank you Mad City for the fantastic service.
