Prevention

Purchased the straps to carry in case one breaks while snowshoeing. Looks like a perfect match to the straps on the MSR snowshoes.

It’s great that replacements are available. It took several months for the straps to arrive, but fine. I wish they came with the plastic clips that secure the loose ends, because when the old straps broke (while snowshoeing), I lost a couple of the original clips.

Durable but don't last forever

This is my second Winter using MSR Trail snowshoes. Two of the rubberized straps are now showing stress tears but should last the rest of Winter. I use the snowshoes up to three times a day for at least 40 days per season in 2 - 3 foot snow. So, more than casual use. I think the straps are surprisingly durable but everything wears out. I anticipate replacing the straps every two years.
