Same as the standard Snugpak Bivvi Bag, but with the added versatility of a half-length zip, wider in the chest, ideally suited for use with the Antarctica RE and the Special Forces System. The Special Forces Bivvi Bag is made of the same Paratex Dry material as our standard Bivvi Bag. Paratex Dry a technical, lightweight, durable, 100% waterproof fabric that is Exceptional breathable to ensure the user is comfortable in all conditions.
The Snugpak Special Forces Bivvi Bag is perfect for cold weather conditions. Lightweight, waterproof and windproof, the Bivvi Bag provides protection from weather elements all year round and is small enough to be carried on its own for emergencies, as well as used in conjunction with an entire sleeping system for wild camping and tent based camping ventures. It can be used as a bare minimum for light-weight wild camping in the summer, or used in conjunction with a sleeping bag and air mat for planned camps all year round, as well as in an emergency to protect against weather elements in unexpected circumstances.
The Special Forces Bivvi bag has a center half-length zip, wider in the chest, and is ideally suited for use with the Special Forces System and the Antarctica which are also center zip sleeping bags.
The technical fabric of the Snugpak Special Forces Bivvi Bag, Paratex Dry, is breathable, allowing trapped moisture to escape from within the microclimate, keeping you warm, dry and comfortable. When seeking shelter from the weather elements, you will be grateful for the superior technical features of the Bivvi Bag, and have greater confidence in your outdoor ventures, knowing you are equipped to deal with emergency situations should the worse happen, as well as having a protective shell for your sleeping bag.
Please Note: Our Bivvi Bags have a solid coating, and although designed to be breathable, sufficient air cannot pass through the fabric to sustain breathing. Care should be taken not to completely seal any Bivvi Bag system, so as to prevent suffocation.

Have not got the chance to use it yet but I am impressed with its compactness, lightweight and build. Great addition to my EDC pack.
I have used the US gortex bivy and it works as advertised. My “ issue” was with the size and weight. The snugpak bivy’s small size when packed is remarkable. This will clearly be my “go to” bivy when traveling and as part of my emergency kit. It will likely replace the US version even when car camping. Service from this vendor was outstanding!
Just spent 5 days off grid camping in the mountains and the Special Forces Bivvy was spectacular. Made all the difference!!!
It got a bit chilly and it also rained off and on and we were right next to a river, so wet, humid, and all that and the material kept me warm and dry but not like the gortex military style that does not breathe. I got some dampness on the bottom of my tent and it did not penetrate through the bivvy material most of all. It works as it claims !
It was big enough to fit my Klymit air mattress, the insulated model, my Basecamp Sleeping Bag by Snugpack and my Thermolon liner also by Snugpak and I had plenty of room to roll around. I slept so warm it was amazing.
I love it!
The size is amazing! Packs so small.
I think for people like me beyond camping but also into emergency prep this is surely a no brainer as a major point in shelter. Pair this with a good poncho, or good lightweight tarp and call it done. And the package could fit in cargo pants pockets, I use a fishing vest as part of my carry prep, so it has that big back pocket, or can easily fit in any decent sized EDC. Consider this over a SOL emergency mylar bivvy for size, and if you camp it warrants the price. And buying from Mad City I saved $70.00. I think for sure worth the investment and it already paid off because I would have been miserable with my sleeping gear all wet this week ! Just like a good sleeping bag, you get what you pay for.
My one wish would be if the zipper went down further. Then it would be perfection !
After having a SF Bivvi in my assault pack for several years, and a lot of use year round, I purchased two more. One for my spouse and another for my patrol bag. They set the standard as far as I’m concerned for augmenting a sleep system especially when one is on the move. I truly expect these two new bags to be as durable and useful as my first, which is still going strong.
Kudos to the gang at Mad City Outdoors for working behind the scenes to try and get these bags to us ASAP, even with all the logistic problems Their supplier was encountering. They were very helpful and kept me up to date on status every step of the way.
I love it thank you the bag performs great warm compact lightweight and is an awesome addition to my sleep system
